Scuba-diving School

Our assignment was to build a lifeguarding school in Kikar Atarim, which is an area on the beach in Tel-Aviv. I chose to locate my building in the water. I focused on a scuba diving school which allows the students to connect their practical practice with their educational studies by being on the water.

I was inspired by the pools which are filled with ocean water which I saw while traveling in Greece. The OPEN/CLOSE building provides an outdoor feeling while being inside. My building has man made lagoons running through it. The lagoon type pools are filled with water that flows into it from the ocean. This allows beach goers to swim in the pool while being indoors while having a natural outdoor feel. It also allows the swimming experience to be clean and filtered from dirt. The Lagoons have direct access to various places in the buildings, for direct contact between the two.
